Last Wednesday, March 26, 2008 Scoop brought you news of the new mini-series Demon’s Regret. The story follows the fallen angel Asmodeus. When Lucifer, also called Morningstar, decided to rebel against God and the rest of the angels, Asmodeus believed in his promises and joined Lucifer’s side. Unfortunately, when he realized that he’d made the wrong choice, it was too late to rejoin the angels.

Asmodeus decides to work against Morningstar in a quiet way. He works for, what he considers to be lesser evil, and in the first issue, reveals how he has done it throughout history. Asmodeus takes claim for stopping an unidentified killer through the means of a drunk driver and thwarts the reign of a tyrant by way of a betraying murder. In the first issue, he helps a mourning father seek revenge on the satanic cult that tortured and killed his only daughter.

Demon’s Regret is a taut anti-hero story filled with delicious vindication. It leaves the reader craving the next issue while ethically pondering Asmodeus’ means of righting wrongs. The dialogue, written by the mini-series creator Mitch Brown, keeps the pace moving by revealing the perfect amount of detail. Wilfredo Torres’ artwork brings Heaven and Hell together in a chaotic blend along with the shadowy darkness of a city’s mean streets. The cover by Michael Golden instills terror and awe with his style and use of color.

Demon’s Regret is available for order through the Diamond Comic Distributors’ Previews catalogue under the Digital Webbing section.
