BloodRayne: Prime Cuts #3 / Incentive Cover

Digital Webbing | BloodRayne, Solicitations No Comments »

Prime Cuts is back after a little hiatus. Why the hiatus? Because we no longer solicit books until they’re completely done (minus lettering). This method should get our books out on the months they’re suppose to be released.

BloodRayne: Prime Cuts #3 (of 4)
by Chad Lambert, Chase Conley, Oscar Bazaldua, Pow Rodrix, Ed Dukeshire
covers by Michael DiPascale, incentive cover by Juanmar

Prime Cuts is back with three new blood-soaked tales — all set within the hit video game series! From a zombie plague caused by the Queen on the Underworld to a sideshow carnival featuring body parts of the original King of Hell, there’s plenty to keep Rayne busy doing what she does best!

Look for it in better comic shops March 2009

sonja_bloodrayne_copia.jpgArtist Eduardo Garcia sent me this. Pretty sweet.

If Eduardo’s name sounds familiar, it should. He’s been working on Marvel and IDW projects the past few months. Before he sent this over, he showed us some impressive Power Pack pages.

Look for more of Eduardo’s art here and in some of our comics in the future!

BRTOKROG03_FC_A.jpgJust like promised, here’s the Scott Clark cover for Tokyo Rogue #3. Inked by Andrew Mangum and colored by Juan Fernandez. Is this hot or what?

Incidentally,  the team that worked on this cover will also be the same team on the Ayano one-shot, a BloodRayne spin-off title. Scott has been turning in pages while Andrew has been inking away. We’re targeting a October/November release. Painter Michael DiPascale (BloodRayne incentive covers) turned in a variant cover which I’ll post up soon. And our buddy Alp Altiner (Team 14) is working on a sweet piece as well.

Look for BloodRayne: Tokyo Rogue #3 in comic shops this September. #1 hit comics shops last Wednesday, hope you grabbed a copy!

BloodRayne: Tokyo Rogue #1 - That cover is pretty muddled [cover A shown by Don Walker], which fits well with the story.

Tokyo Rogue #1 Review @ Friendly Neighborhood Komics

You know, for someone who has an innate fear of anything that mews, I read way too many horror comics. Bloodrayne is one of them, focusing on a half-human half-vampire (AKA dhampir) and her adventures working for the Brimstone Society.

Here’s a sneak peek at “Cover B” of Tokyo Rogue #3. We’ll show off the other cover on Friday by Scott Clark (which you’re gonna love just as much).

Prime Cuts / Sneak Peek

BRPCtest.jpgOkay, check this out, DiPascale and I were brainstorming some cover ideas and thought it’d be pretty cool to showcase Rayne’s great cast of villains. Since the Prime Cuts series is so heavily reliant on the actual video games themselves, it made sense to toss these characters on the covers.

But I wanted to take it a step further and borrow an idea I’ve seen done in the past where a character appears to have taken over someone’s title. Thus, this was born.

This isn’t the actual incentive cover for #4, it’s a preliminary mock to test out the concept. Which cover will Ferril appear on? And which other popular Rayne villains will get their own covers? Stay tuned.
